Our Approach

At Alleviation Ketamine, we provide safe and effective care for many mental health conditions and chronic pain syndromes with intravenous ketamine infusion therapy.  We know you are more than a diagnosis. Although, diagnoses can be helpful in guiding treatment and research, they do not tell the full story of your life or make up all of who you are. Patterns of thought, emotion, feeling and behavior have developed as a result of years of experiences - and only experience will lead to true healing.      Thus, we view treatment with ketamine as a personal journey and we act as your guides. The power to heal is an innate quality of our bodies and minds. We help you unlock that potential.      Our approach focuses on the healing effect of the non-ordinary state of consciousness that occurs during the infusion.  This state shift allows access to unconscious parts of the mind that are difficult to access in ordinary waking consciousness. Furthermore, this state of consciousness allows us to gain new perspectives on our "self" and our relationship to that self, to others, to our culture and to the universe at large.      We also focus on neuroception, the ability of the autonomic nervous system and subcortical brain regions to interpret internal and external stimuli to assess the level of safety.  We provide a safe and nurturing environment so you can fully immerse yourself in the process.       Finally, we harness the enhanced neuroplasticity catalyzed by the ketamine infusion. Neuroplasticity is the ability of neurons (nerve cells) to form new connections in the brain and to break old connections. We can harness this malleablity to re-wire the brain and initiate psychological and emotional change at the cellular and molecular level.

"It’s really great to have an option close to home and not having to trek into Boston. The offices are beautiful, and the recovery room is really nice.

Dr. Hadfield is very kind as well."

Matt C.

"This place is wonderful and extremely pleasing to look at. A very, very comfortable and enjoyable experience all-around."

Gail C.

"I came to alleviation ketamine after much urging from a physician friend of mine. He felt strongly that it would help me with my bipolar, depression and anxiety disorders. I was skeptical but truly desperate. Dr. Hadfield and his staff were incredible. Time was spent explaining what I would experience. Excellent care was provided to ensure safe administration of the ketamine. I received the dosages and could tell that this is something that I wanted to continue. Now I maintain an infusion every 3 weeks with the ketamine lozenges bridging in between. Dr. Hadfield and his staff are attentive and caring. I just can’t say enough great things about them!"

Jesse M.

"I came to Alleviation Ketamine in dire need of help. The staff welcomed me with open arms and accommodated my journey above and beyond expectations. I would recommend Alleviation Ketamine to any and all friends, family, or loved ones struggling with mental health. They are truly a great and innovative team of medical professionals."

Jess D.

"I decided to try ketamine after experiencing a resurgence of debilitating anxiety that was really impacting my ability to work and connect with others. This anxiety was familiar, I've been dealing with it (at various intensities) since I was a teenager. I'm 33 now, and a therapist, so I had a lot of "tools" to work with it -- individual therapy, meditation, yoga, antidepressants, journaling, etc. But there was still this really deep pervasive sense of dread and fear that I really wanted some extra support with. I'd been reading and hearing a lot about the new research being done on psychedelics to support mental health and I was curious to try it and that's how I found my way to Alleviation Ketamine.

I felt so supported and cared for by Neil and Rebeccah -- they answered all my questions, were so respectful of my pace, and made the whole process feel really safe. This, I found, was foundational to taking ketamine which was something like a rollercoaster ride of emotions -- taking me to places that were a bit more difficult to go and also connecting me to my highest values and possibilities. I found myself way more excited about life and able to connect with others than I had been able to for a long time. I think a really important aspect to this was that I was also integrating the insights while on ketamine by working with a therapist, paying attention to my dreams, needs, desires.

It's been months and I still feel the benefits."

Jennifer F.

"I am bipolar type 2 and was suffering from a major depressive episode for 5 or more years. I always had depressive swings, but this one was intractable. Despite an amazing psychiatrist, multiple opinions, inpatient stays at the hospital, and TMS nothing helped. Ketamine saved my life. Full stop. No exaggeration.

The staff here are truly kind, lovely, and empathetic people who have a sincere desire to help.

Dr. Hadfield is incredibly knowledgeable and up to date on current research. He will answer any questions you have, take the time you need, and is incredibly responsive. He is willing to communicate with my psychiatrist too. He wants to be kept in the loop.

I have had treatments at other places, but the people at Alleviation Ketamine are best in class. I am so grateful and fortunate to have found them. "

Conditions We Treat

At Alleviation Ketamine, we look at each diagnosis as a surface manifestation of deeper pain and suffering.  We view each diagnosis as a confluence of various strategies and adaptations to life experiences, difficulties, wounds and traumas.  The mind and nervous system are shaped by our environment and prioritize survival. However these strategies and adaptations are context-specific and as the lived environment changes, those strategies can lose their relevance.  Ketamine infusion therapy can get to the root underlying and driving symptoms and can help you find deep, transformational healing.
